For those unfamiliar, Xero is a cloud accounting platform founded right here in New Zealand, and it’s become the go-to solution for small businesses across Australia and New Zealand. With over 4 million subscribers globally and a dominant market share in the ANZ region, Xero has built an ecosystem that businesses trust with their financial data.

The Xero App Partner program isn’t just about being listed in a marketplace. It’s a stamp of quality. Xero reviews each integration to ensure it meets their standards for security, data handling, and user experience. For Text Reload users, this means you can connect your Xero account with confidence, knowing the integration has been thoroughly vetted.

The Certification Journey

Getting here wasn’t a quick process, and honestly, we’re glad it wasn’t. Xero’s certification involves passing through multiple checkpoints that test different aspects of the integration:

OAuth2 Implementation - Proper authentication flows with secure token management
Data Integrity - Ensuring contacts and invoices sync accurately without data loss
Scope Minimisation - Only requesting access to the data we actually need (read-only access to invoices and contacts)
Error Handling - Graceful handling of edge cases and API failures
Security Assessment - A review by Xero’s security team

These requirements pushed us to build a robust integration from the ground up.

What This Means for Text Reload Users

With the Xero integration, Text Reload can now:
